Laurence Panadero

Laurence Panadero is a French artist living in Fort Lauderdale. She studied art in Paris and Rome and specializes in sculpture, large-scale installations, and performance. Laurence expresses herself in many different media and her commissions have ranged from theater scenography and art direction to monumental sculptures for museums and exhibitions. Her technical skills as a sculptor have been perfected while producing prototypes for diverse companies such as Dior, Disney, Warner Brothers, and Marvel Comics. She established VIM, a non-profit organization to produce and promote artistic creations for spectacles, events, and exhibitions, and has represented more than 100 artists from emerging to renowned. When she became a mother, Laurence began teaching art to children at her Velvet House Studio as well as paint and sip classes with a Parisian twist for adults. In 2018, Laurence purchased a wedding chapel in Fort Lauderdale, which she calls Art Chapelle, where she hosts events and offers space for artists to connect.

“Artists are the messengers of our time. We create conversations. I do believe in the importance of art that talks and delivers messages. Being a voice for society.” Laurence Panadero

At the opening of our Earth Air Fire & Water exhibit on April 17 to celebrate Earth Day, Laurence Panadero will demonstrate how she sculpts mermaids in clay.  She is inspired by the work of the 1000 Mermaids Project in Broward County and the WMODA Mermaid Quest scavenger hunt. WMODA fans may remember Laurence’s entertaining mask-making workshop in 2018 and her exhibits at our Art in Action shows.
