Guardians of the Earth
Laurence Panadero founded the Mission of Light in 2022 in partnership with the Ancient Spanish Monastery Foundation, and her monumental sculptures of monks were exhibited there during Miami Art Basel Week. It was a moving experience to see her Guardians of the Earth in the monastery’s atmospheric cloisters. Laurence will be showing some of her latest work at the September 5th event.

Artists in the Cloister Event Details
Tickets for the Artists in the Cloisters event on September 5 are $30 and include 2 non-alcoholic beverages. A full bar and dinner are available for an additional charge. All funds raised benefit the Ancient Spanish Monastery Foundation, a non-profit organization, and their endeavor to maintain and preserve the historic building and gardens. This year, the Foundation has created a new botanical garden at the monastery, reintroducing native plants for the community to enjoy. They are collaborating with the Fairchild Million Orchid Project to bring back species that grew in Florida more than a century ago.
