Sandy Beach is a volunteer at WMODA and a leading light in the cultural community of Dania Beach/Hollywood where she grew up. She organizes the monthly Art in the Hall events during Dania after Dark and promotes local artists like herself. Sandy’s sea-glass jewelry is a popular gift purchase at the WMODA boutique.
The ocean was Sandy’s playground and for many years she has walked the beach collecting sea glass, which is organically cultured over decades of erosion by sand and waves. Sandy got the idea of creating jewelry with the shards of distressed glass and makes unique, one-a kind pieces inspired by her beach-combing discoveries. Sandy is a flight attendant and often picks up indigenous beads, beans and even shells from different countries to add to her art. In Sandy’s words, "I love the idea that they all have history and that I'm taking something broken and making something beautiful. it's quite symbolic about life"
