The afternoon tea in the Chihuly gallery, hosted by Michael Doulton and Louise Irvine on November 9th, was a sell out success. Many ladies dressed specially for the occasion in gorgeous hats to rival Downton Abbey. Louise presented anecdotes from the history of tea drinking and advised on the social etiquette of the proceedings. Guests enjoyed a menu of tasty sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, and desserts served in traditional English style on fine bone china by Royal Albert. The harlequin style presentation of the place settings is currently in vogue and many guests bought tea services to use at home from the new Royal Albert collection by Australian supermodel, Miranda Kerr. Michael Doulton gave every guest a gift of a Royal Albert tea tip in the shape of a teapot courtesy of Royal Doulton. The Miranda Kerr collection of English tea wares is currently available at the Wiener Museum shop. Pop in soon to find the perfect holiday gift.
